Review
After following the delectable 26 Grains on Instagram I spotted a post they had shared of the Tribe running club perched in their little nook in the corner of Neal’s Yard and immediately set about finding out how I could get involved.

After some Googling I realised that far from being just an (awesome) running club the guys at Tribe were also a start-up specialising in providing fellow runners and exercise addicts with the fuel needed to help train and race efficiently, in the form of weekly Tribe Packs delivered straight to your door.
Tribe was inspired by the 1,000 mile run undertaken by founders Tom, Guy and Rob in 2013, running 40 marathons in 9 countries over 30 days to help raise awareness of child trafficking. As sustenance the boys created their own trail mixes and found that far from missing out the unrefined, wholefood ingredients were able to provide the nutrients they needed to complete the challenge and, even better, they tasted great. This journey is what inspired Tribe and the desire to create ‘natural foods to prepare other runners for tough journeys.’
Needless to say I signed up immediately and having just received my 8th Tribe Pack I thought now would be a good time to share my experience with some likeminded fitness friends.
What’s Inside?
Each Pack includes 5 snacks to help support various aspects of training, broken down into 4 categories:
- Pick-Me-Up: Designed specifically to give you energy before you train
- Plenish: Packed full of protein for the perfect post exercise boost
- Sustain: Snacks to help endurance and keep you going throughout the day
- Discover: Each pack contains a snack from a brand the Tribe Team have been loving
Along with the goodies each offering also includes a weekly newsletter chock full of things the team have been loving, updates to the packs, recipes from guest bloggers and info on all of the upcoming events we can look forward to. There are some great runs coming up in collaboration with some really exciting brands, and you can get involved here.
All of the snacks I’ve tried so far have been beyond delicious and have made a noticeable difference to my training. By having specific foods to eat at various times I’ve been paying a lot more attention to my pre and post exercise diet than I would have previously, which has meant a ton more energy when it comes to things like Sunday long runs and Spinning.
Whilst all of the contents can be eaten straight from the pack I’ve also really enjoyed using them to perk up some of my favourite dishes.
Almond porridge topped with mango, Pip & Nut Almond and Coconut Butter (Tribe – Discover) and Goji Berry, Bee Pollen and Seeds Sachet (Tribe – Sustain)
Oat milk and sultana porridge, fresh blueberries, pure maple syrup and Cacao Seeds (Tribe – Plenish)
The variety of products in each of the packs make receiving these each week such a joy, and the forthcoming addition of the Tribe Bars are sure to be a total gamechanger. Although still in the early stages Tribe looks set to win over the hearts of the capital’s lycra-lovers in no time and I have a feeling we’re set to see lots of exciting changes from the brand as it continues to evolve and find it’s (trainer-clad) feet.
